I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Starbucks (Richland, WA) in Apr 2009
Interview
My interview took place with the store manager. All managers work off of a deck provided by Starbucks. They use what is called, "behavor-based" interview questions. The interview lasted about thirty minutes. Though I was being interviewed for a barista position, the store manager did speak with me about taking a shift supervisor role doe to my past management experience.

Question 1
The question was regarding a client encounter that did not go well and what could have been done in order to achieve a better outcome.
Received an email asking to schedule an interview for the following week. The interview took place in the store itself, and took about 15 minutes. The questions were pretty average.
First interview went well, just the basic behavioral questions that should be answered using the STAR method. Second interview was less questions but with the district manager. Still waiting to hear back (if they reach out at all).

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to navigate a situation where the supervisor wasn’t available.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
