I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Starbucks in Aug 2008
Interview
Consisted of 2 interviews by different managers. Both simple. Basic questions related to customer service. Friendly conversational interview style. Easy to know what kind of answers they looking for. If you can get an interview you will most likely be hired. Timing can be everything as it was for me. I filled out an application and got a call back later that afternoon, was hired the next day. Mainly dependent upon your availability, the more open the better being you could start as early as 4:30a.m. and some stores are now 24-hour. Hiring process is simple and stars immediately with a training plan. Very straight forward.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you resolved a conflict and what the outcome was.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
