Not only was this experience lengthy, there were red flags throughout. From the application itself to the interview process, they ask for A LOT of you. In total, 4-5 assignments issued, where you’re expected to be an expert on the product (mind you, an interviewer expressed lacking knowledge in the product while also sharing most of the company did as well…who does that?). Tardiness throughout the process. And lack of interest from superior members of the company. Quite literally made the comment that interviewing was not of interest that day (again…..who does that? Tells a prospective employee that they could care less?) The experience left a poor taste in my mouth and I completely understand the negative feedback received by this company.

Condescending questions, some aligned with the role.
I work in operations here at Streak and really want to apologize for the poor interview experience you had. We know interviewing isn’t the most pleasant experience and we made it worse by being tardy, drawing out the process and by not coming into it fully prepared to make interviewing a priority that day. We all have an “off” day sometimes, but it’s unfair to our candidates that we wouldn’t bring the same level of energy and enthusiasm to the interview that they do.
I wanted to let you know that we’ve since made several changes to how we interview. We’ve hired an operations person (myself) to oversee the process from front to back as well as shortened the process significantly. We’re also reviewing all interview feedback with the hiring managers in real time so we can continuously improve.
Again, we’re sorry the experience left a poor taste in your mouth but we hope the improvements we’ve made can make this a more enjoyable experience for future candidates. My email is lowell@streak.com if you have any additional comments or concerns- I’d love to hear them.
Applied through recruiter and got offer. The interview process was pretty typical including coding challenges + programming rounds, followed by lunch. The company is doing some cool work. Love working here and making an impact.
Take home exercise, Video chat with VP of engineering, onsite chats. Whole process reeked of self aggrandizing gun slinging startup bros. The process showed the company was very disorganized and that everyone was just there because they were told to be there.
