      Customer Support Specialist Interview

      12 Aug 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Vancouver, BC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Superhuman (Vancouver, BC) in Jul 2023

      Interview

I had an exceptional experience throughout my interview journey with Grammarly. Despite the thorough and extended nature of the process, the team remained approachable and supportive at every step. If you're considering applying to Grammarly or have some interviews coming up with them, I highly recommend them from my experience so far. Here's my journey to give you a little more insight: It took about a month after applying to secure an interview. I contacted them to receive an interview via LinkedIn by commenting on one of their posts. Within the hour, I had been contacted by their recruiting team and scheduled a time for an interview. During the phone interview with the recruiter, they recognized the time delays and were able to inform me the hiring manager was traveling from Ukraine to Canada, so I'm certain scheduling wise my interview will be a unique case. Following my my phone interview, I followed up after 4 business days with a thank you/update. It took 8 business days (13 days total) to hear back from them about my second interview. There were a few holidays that collided during this time (Canada Day, Independence Day) so it was completely understandable as to why it took a while to hear back, but as I really wanted this role, I was on the edge of my seat to hear back 😛 The interview process consisted of 4 stages: • 1st stage: 30-minute phone interview where the recruiter explains the role/company and asks you a couple of questions regarding your experience • 2nd stage: 45-minute Zoom interview w/ hiring manager, they ask you a few of the questions I listed below • 3rd stage: 90-minute timed assessment test - although I didn't complete it within the time limit (there were more questions and detailed responses than I was expecting), I took note of the questions and shared my responses with the recruiter immediately afterward - they were extremely receptive to feedback and took the work I did outside of the timed assessment into account, I've heard online that they previously allotted more time (about 2 hours), I don't know if this was a recent change?... • 4th stage: 3 separate 60-minute Zoom interviews w/ different team members ➨ 4a. met with 2 different team members focusing on customer service-based experience in problem-solving and positive communication ➨ 4b. focused on current and previous professional experiences, the managers' strengths and weaknesses in each role, and how you communicated this feedback to your leaders ➨ 4c. delved more into ALL your previous roles, the highlights and lowlights in each role, and how you went about providing feedback * You can view this last stage as either a continuation of the interview process or as a separate segment, making it a total of 7 parts. The interview process was difficult in the sense that it demanded extensive engagement and comprehensive discussions. Yet, throughout the process, I consistently felt not only recognized but truly valued as a prospective candidate and as an individual by Grammarly. Their exceptional efforts to accommodate and warmly welcome me during the interviews significantly influenced my decision to choose them as my workplace. Being someone who puts their all into interviews for roles they're passionate about, it's incredibly validating to know that Grammarly shares the same level of dedication and care. If you're passionate about joining Grammarly and prepare for each interview, your dedication and drive will be recognized and you will do awesome throughout the process. Best of luck – you've got this!

The first interview was screening, subsequent two were with hiring manager and the team. It just felt that they are reading some cliche interview questions from the sheet with no emotions or interest towards the process

      Interview

If you wonder whether to apply at Grammarly - please DO :)! The whole experience is very professional but also humane. It began when I noticed a job offer posted by a local recruiter on Facebook. I emailed her, and a quick back-and-forth resulted in me sending my CV and getting a 90-minute test to solve. After that 30-minute screening with another recruiter, there will be three separate 60-minute interviews with different team members/managers. The team involved in my recruitment process was very attentive and smiling. :) The whole process took one month, during which I learned much about Grammaraly's vision, culture, and work. The interviews were very well prepared. In the end, I asked many questions and received honest answers. Be sure to review your work history and challenges and give your best. Before each interview, you can submit your availability. I strongly recommend applying to Grammarly. This was the best recruitment process ever.
