I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at SweetLabs (San Diego, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
I believe life happens for us, not to us. I had a great interview process. I passed an 8hr test project (was told I did a great job), was invited to an hour phone interview with Blake (awesome guy), passed and was invited to an in-person interview that was 3 hours long with 4 people. It was tough but felt I did well. Unfortunately, I found out a day later I was not a good fit for the position. I appreciate the experience and will grow from it. I'm in the process of growing from this experience, improving not only on my work but myself. Thank you Sweetlabs and good luck!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your process? Do I understand UX? How would I work with the UX person?
We are sorry to hear that you felt you had a negative experience during our interview process. It is our goal to make our interview process as pleasant as possible and we strive to make sure candidates feel comfortable and leave feeling positive. We do have a very unique culture at SweetLabs which requires thorough screening of all candidates and we understand your frustration in not receiving an offer after your time investment. Thanks again for your interest and time and best of luck in furthering your career.
It was a very slow process. They take 2-3 telephonic interviews which are non technical and discuss your previous experience, then call you for 3 face to face rounds which is again non technical and then without taking any technical test, decide that you don't have enough technical experience. Never really understood the process as after 5 non-tech interviews which took around 3 weeks, they decided my tech capabilities won't fit the role. They always had my resume which clearly stated my years of experience. Was disappointed with the interview structure & the reason they gave. At least should have taken a technical round before deciding & ruling me out on that basis.
Thank you for your feedback, we are saddened to hear that you found the experience to be less than desirable. We do our best to minimize candidates’ time spent in the interview process and we apologize if you feel it was too lengthy. Finding a great fit that will ensure success for everyone involved is always the underlying goal. Thank you again for your time and interest in SweetLabs.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SweetLabs (San Diego, CA) in Nov 2016

Very easy, straight forward process with key players. The people were very nice and the office left an impression. Office is above Searsuckers. Cool startup with a very attractive work environment.
