Having interviewed with numerous companies throughout my career, this stands out as my worst interview experience to date. The entire process lacked basic professional standards and transparency:
None of the interviewers or HR personnel turned on their cameras during any interactions
- No one involved in the process had verifiable LinkedIn profiles
Interview was scheduled during off-work hours
Interviewer's communication was unclear and difficult to understand
Company could only describe itself by comparing to "TCS and Infosys" rather than highlighting their own values
Role was presented as Support Delivery but actual requirements were heavily technical
Critical information about 24x7 work schedule (primarily Indian time zone) was only revealed during the interview
From the very beginning, it was clear they were looking for someone who would be willing to work around the clock without job security - essentially seeking an overworked resource they could dispose of at will. As someone with a stable position, there was no way I would consider leaving my current role for such an unstable and unprofessional environment.
Most concerning is that I still cannot verify if the people who interviewed me were actually employees of the company. This complete lack of transparency and professionalism raises serious red flags about the company's culture and operations.
I later learned that many candidates had withdrawn from the process, which is completely understandable given my experience.
Advice to Management:
Establish basic professional standards for your hiring process. Ensure transparency, maintain accurate job descriptions, and let your company stand on its own merits rather than comparing it to other organizations.
Pros:
None that I could identify
Cons:
Zero transparency in hiring process
Misleading job description
Unprofessional interview conduct
Poor communication
Hidden work schedule requirements
Unstable work environment
Exploitative work culture
