I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Systems Evolution in Mar 2022
Interview
Their interview "gauntlet" consists of 5 or 6 hour-long chats about their employee-owned, pseudo-MLM business model. They never gave any useful details about the role I might fill or the solutions they specialize in, or really dug into my technical qualifications at all. There is no proper case interview or structured technical exercise. I speculate that you're largely there to feed your interviewers' internal performance metrics centered on "recruiting" and conducting rote interviews.
I came away with the impression that SEI over-charges clients to offer management consulting's low-hanging fruit... sketch a solution, but don't implement it; offer recommendations, but don't operationalize them; map process inefficiencies, but don't change them.
If the salaries are accurate, SEI may be worth rolling the dice on... but expect undue emphasis on cultural fit and what client/work you might bring with you.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Are you willing and able to flex to support any role?
Recruited by an employee through LinkedIn. Multiple interviews, more talk about the company model, how it is "employee owned", the expectations of fit. Nothing about clients and delivery of excellence. Turns out recruiting for interviews and conducting interviews is an expectation. Don't waste your time
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Systems Evolution (New York, NY) in Feb 2024
Interview
Very informal interview process. Most questions are related to experience and making sure you understand the company structure. I feel like they value authenticity and independence so just be yourself and it should do you well. They are pretty selective so if you are on the lower end of experience it might be hard to get an offer. Only complaint is interview process is way too long at like 2 months.

Interview
Had 1 Interview with a consultant. It seemed intentionally vague with quite a lot of emphasis on "being your own boss" and "being an owner". It felt very generic and almost like checking the box. Prior to the interview and after, I asked for salary information. This was dodged no less than 3 times and I ended the process. The level of detail they were willing to go into things raised a ton of red flags.
