Arranged by a Consultancy firm. First round was a computer test of 30 mins consisting of 30 questions without negative marking which was a qualifying test for 3 rounds of interviews thereafter.
Test was not straight forward but had interesting and tricky questions from Testing point of view. Qualified the test.
Thereafter the nightmare started, after waiting for 4 hours, i argued for my 1st round of face to face interview which was hurriedly arranged by the TIAA team. The interviewer seemed to be an outsider since he also wore a temporary visitor card like us
From the moment i entered his cabin, i got a feeling he has already decided to disqualify me, the guy looked bored, hungry, irritated by doing this for many hours. He didn't want textbook answers he told me initially but in the end he was looking for fancy textbook jargons in my answers when he wasn't finding one ( How can layman understand jargons if your explaining answers in layman terms??). After speaking in English he started conversing in Hindi which reflected his exhaustion. Plus it seemed that he had a dislike for Manual Testing but he himself was one from that background. So he had a glance at my resume and just kept it aside n started asking Vague questions..He seemed to have a different or rather WRONG understanding of basic testing concepts n he was very rigid on his stance which i respectfully agreed to disagree, i guess that was the nail in my coffin. 2 more questions n that was the end in 15 mins when everyone else in the morning had this round going for 30-45 mins at least.
A piece of advice for TIAA, do not go for Hired interviewers, they do not conduct their job properly and if this guy was part of TIAA, then god bless you guys. The interviewer was tired, bored and irritated by the long process where he was involved from morning, either this or he is one nagging soul. Please either give them a break or replace them with professionals.
