TIAA Senior Data Stage Developer interview questions

I had an interview on 17th December 2016. I was given Cab for pick up and drop from Pune To Mumbai. Got picked up at 6AM in the morning. Reached TIAA office at 9:15AM. Cleared online technical test at 11AM. Cleared Technical Face to Face round 4PM. Next was Technical interview again (US call) at 8:30PM and cleared that too. Next was Managerial interview at 9PM which again I cleared (atleast thats what I was told) and was told to wait for an offer within next 3-4 working days. Reached Pune back at 2:15 AM. So after a really long day, I was told by consultancy people that my candidature was put on hold since they already got required number of people and also since my number of experience was not enough(2.8 years). Now I am wondering what exactly went wrong. If anyone from TIAA can explain it to me then it would be very greatful.
