first round is a recruiter round, second round is an interview round, and final round is another interview round with higher up person. Very easy interview process, just do normal stuff
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Tandem
Interview
Decent interview process. First round is with recruiter, then a case interview, then a take home, and finally an in person day. The interview process was failry thorough and the recruiters were phenomenal. The company is definitely going somewhere
Only had the initial phone screen. The recruiter was clearly sitting on some sort of lounge/recliner type of chair with the computer on her lap. Not a great start. She was late and did not apologize for being late. On the whole, she seemed wildly disinterested in interviewing me, to be honest, I think she was doing something else on the computer while talking to me as her eyes did not seem focused on me at all. She clearly wasn't taking notes either. I've done enough interviews to where you can tell when someone is engaged and taking notes vs just doing other work.
She didn't really describe the job well. Her questions were standard, asked me if I'd done certain things in my career, all of which I had. Those things were listed on my resume as well. Based on the job description, I was a fit for this job. Everything it wanted from a candidate I have done in my career and it was on my resume. All of her responses to my questions started with "uhhh" and ended with something to the effect of "so..yep." I only point this out because the recruiter very rudely answered one of my questions to her by saying "Uhhh yeah to be honest we're looking for someone with more experience probably." That sentence didn't even fit to answer the question so it was weird to put in there. I also mention that to say that if they need someone with more experience then the job description is clearly inaccurate and they are lying about responsibilities while wanting someone who can do much, much more to keep the salary lower than would actually be required to hire someone with that level of skill.
Kind of feels like whoever is running recruiting needs to sit in on her calls and see how she's actually interviewing. I had no intention of scheduling a second interview if asked, but was not surprised to hear I was not moving forward in the process.
