I interviewed at The Connor Group

      Interview

The interview process was warm, I felt very unique that they reached out and recruited me for an opportunity. Their CEO, benefits package and apartments they own are amazing...seriously best benefits package I've ever seen. 1st interview was 4-5 questions, 2nd interview was 10-15 using some of the same questions from the first interview via teams call. Unfortunately, even though the interview questions are quite standard and easy it was disclosed to me that The Connor Group only hires the top 1% of sales applicants...This is great for the company, but it gave me the indication that if you weren't an A+ student growing up or summa cum laude that they weren't going to move forward.......At this point, I knew what she was trying to say to me even though my interview went well in my opinion. Also after your second interview, it's someone else's decision entirely if they move forward or not (the director). So a person who has never talked to you personally or reviewed a thing with you has all the power based on looking at a sheet of a paper and that tells me The Connor Group passes up on a lot of talent out there. Overall, the process goes 1st phone interview, then 2nd interview via Teams, and a 3rd interview which will include the regional manager, and then a day in the life for you to shadow and experience the team/place you'll be working at if you make it. I encourage anyone to look at the questions I post below as I recorded all of them, and come up with some stellar outstanding answers because this company is looking for a complete diamond, which is probably how they became the company they are today. Good luck to whoever is reading this and is going through the process just because it didn't work out for me doesn't mean it won't work for you and I hope these questions will fully prepare you to get to that 3rd round of interviews!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - Tell me about yourself? (This question is asked twice, one in general and one personal/professionally) - Why did you previously switch careers in your last 2 jobs? - Why are you interested in working for The Connor Group? - What made you leave your last job? - What's the biggest impact on sales that you've had? - What's something you can add to the company? - How much money do I currently or previously make at my last job & How much am I looking to make as a base in this job? - What was my current work schedule like? - Where do I see myself personally and professionally in 5 years? - What job would you do if you could pick anything? - What words and how would your previous manager describe you? - What are some of your strengths and weaknesses? - What is your "closing" sale style? - Do you personally think you have to do something everyday in order to be successful? - What's the most important thing for a successful sale? - If you had an hour outside of work what would you find yourself doing? ^These are all the ones I remember. You got this! Good luck everyone.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at The Connor Group (Austin, TX) in Apr 2025

      Interview

I was reached out by a recruiter through LinkedIn and she seemed so excited wanting to connect with me, and as I was looking through the job description and about the company, and it seemed interesting, so I gave it a shot and scheduled the initial phone interview with the recruiter. The day comes and the recruiter calls me and we had our very basic interview questions, which I thought went pretty well. She seemed like a sweetheart and was very optimistic about my interview. She then tells me that she'll get with the hiring manager and she'll let me know what the next steps are in 24-48 hours, so it won't be till Friday (the phone interview was on Wednesday). I was very much looking forward to an email or whatever from the recruiter because she told me she would get back to me, and we all know that a lot of companies nowadays, they just ghost you, so when they tell you they'll get back to you, it's a relief, at least. As Friday passes and then a whole week has passed already at this point, I never got any news from the recruiter, I even tried emailing her and no response. It's very upsetting and disappointing because I really had my hopes up and I was really looking forward to the next steps in the interview process, but unfortunately, most companies nowadays, just ghost you instead of writing a rejection letter to you, how disappointing.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Connor Group (Cincinnati, OH) in Jul 2024

      Interview

I went through several rounds of interviewing. At first it felt more like a conversation where I was able to address questions that I had as well. In later interviews I had a 30 minute call where I answered all of their questions. After 3 rounds of interviews, I never heard from them again. However, one of their recruiters contacted me twice on linkedin to hire me for the same position that I had already interviewed for. I very kindly told her about my experience where they had ghosted me in the interviewing process. The recruiter viewed my message and gave no response. I liked the people that I interviewed with, they were very friendly and the process wasn't stressful, but I didn't hear from them in any capacity after weeks of interviewing.
