Lengthy process, with several interviews and downtime in between contacts. After submitting the application, was contacted by an HR bot to schedule a 30-minute screen. That call went fine, but I never had any other contact with that HR person throughout the rest of the process (or with anyone in HR, for that matter). Got an invitation for a call with the hiring manager right after that, that call went well, then I waited about 3 weeks for any follow-up. I was then scheduled for 6 virtual interviews, each with 1-3 people. After those were completed, I waited another week or so, then I was invited for an in-person lunch and tour.
I was an out of town candidate (they knew this) and I paid for the travel expenses for the in person lunch/tour (there was no offer for them to cover it). After that in-person experience, I waited another 2.5 weeks to hear anything back, and all I got was an automated "we've decided to pursue other candidates" email from Workday. No personal communication from HR or the hiring manager, even after I reached out to ask for any feedback.
I applied online. I interviewed at ThedaCare (Neenah, WI) in Apr 2026
Interview
Applied online and received an email around a week later from HR to provide them with some times to schedule a 30mn phone call. 30mn phone call was quick (albeit a bit lackluster) just verifying degree information, prior work history, and compensation expectations. Next day received a phone call from a leader's executive assistant asking to schedule a 45mn Teams interview with 2 senior leaders. Teams call was standard, only 1 of the 2 showed up and the one who was present was not fully engaged in the conversation (clearly visible multitasking/doing other work while on camera). Was told at end of call, should be hearing back within the week regarding a decision. Received rejection notice, 24 days after, with no clear communication just a generic form email sent at 12am
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
You are faced with a leader who is struggling to maintain retention of new graduate nurses, how would you advise them to address that process deficiency?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ThedaCare (Green Bay, WI) in Apr 2026
Interview
It was a friendly atmosphere with 6 people sitting in during the interview. They ask you to describe yourself, and ask about different scenarios and how you have responded to them in the past. Make sure to ask them questions too and make sure it is a good fit. Ask them about other tasks you may be expected to perform that is not listed on the job listing.
