I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Austin, TX) in Jun 2021
Interview
The interview process was near chaos but all occurred in the span of a day. I received a call ~2 weeks after applying from an HR rep and had a 20-30 min interview where we covered logistics and the details of the job. HR rep admitted she intended on contacting me sooner, but didn't and now the PI asked her to follow up. A phone interview with the PI was set 2 hours after the initial interview. Needless to say I wasn't prepared and proceeded to babble complete nonsense.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Specific questions about reagents and equipment used in past experiences.
Very technical-oriented interview, with only a few behavioral questions. Expect a lot of questions related to the job description. Not too difficult but be prepared for rapid fire chemistry questions.
Had two virtual interviews, around 30 minutes each. Basic behavioral questions with the usual “describe a situation where you overcame an obstacle” type questions. Talked through resume, felt rather low pressure.

Interview
Generic star questions, just what you expect anywhere else. So I guess you should find the standard questions and have an answer for them. Other than that getting the interview wasn't hard
