I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Houston, TX) in Aug 2016
Interview
Very informal....you have to wow them with a cover letter that covers about 10 questions. If and when they call you back they will set up a 1:1 interview in a store with a current store manager. As you progress you meet with more store managers 2-3...then a final interview with the District Manager.....then you get an offer from the corporate recruiter.
No Store Manager positions are filled from outside.Only Assistant Manager in Training...and depending on the area you will have to agree to relocate. On their dime......
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Baton Rouge, LA) in Mar 2014
Interview
I met with another of the assistant managers. I had retail management experience, so I explained what I did in my previous job that qualified me for the one I was interviewing for. I was asked a lot of questions by a very friendly guy.
