the process starts with interviewing with a recruiter, then passed on to another person in HR, then the hiring manager, then the broader team. the recruiting team was very communicative and professional. overall a positive experience.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TrainingPeaks (Denver, CO) in Mar 2023
Interview
I had 2 initial screening interviews before they gave me a take-home assignment that was due in a week. I'm a single dad and had to use my PTO as well as hire a babysitter to have time to focus on their assignment. I pushed up my code and messaged the hiring manager that It was ready for evaluation. I was proud of the work I submitted and was looking forward to hearing from them. I didn't hear from him for a week. I reach back out and he tells me he's not sure why no one has contacted me and he will get back to me. Another week and a half goes by and I send out another email. TrainingPeaks simply ghosted me. No feedback, no acceptance, no rejection. They just went silent. I found this to be an incredible waste of time and a complete lack of respect on their part. In hindsight, I think I dodged a bullet because I imagine they treat their employees the same way they treat their applicants. I only wish I hadn't sacrificed time away from my kids for this interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Take-home assignment to build out a basic application that focused on reusability and OOP.
Very unprofessional. Don’t waste your time. Did first interview with recruiter and he said he would send over the code challenge by end of week. I had to follow up with him the following week and finally received challenge a week late. Completed the challenge and turned it in the following weekend. I have heard nothing - not even a confirmation of receipt - for weeks and have tried contacting the recruiter.
