About 1 week after submitting my application, I received an email for a phone interview. The tone of the interviewer was curt and bitter right from the beginning . He brought up what they are paying in that position, which was about what I was making in the same position at another company over 10 years ago. Clearly they must be aware they are underpaying. I sent a thank you note and some follow up messages but never received a reply or acknowledgement . I came away with a bad impression about Transamerica and would not want to work for them nor be one of their customers.
