The person who I now know is the manager called me and set up a time to meet. I waited quite a while in the lobby without hearing anything about when I could expect to be interviewed. Finally the manager came down and talked to me, asked me about my degree, and about my pipetting skills. Then we went upstairs, and the lab director barked similar questions at me, then asked when I would like to start. There is a very serious sounding one year contract that I signed, and sort of regretted signing almost immediately. Word among other employees is that they do not actually try to hold anyone to the contract provisions, and it is just a scare tactic to try to keep employees longer. There is a short (literally a few days) training session and then you are just thrown into insurance filing, crediting and billing. Very little labwork, and none for several months.
