      Support Engineer Interview

      14 May 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Unity in Mar 2020

      Interview

I had first applied to a Lead Support Engineer role but they had already proceeded with someone else; however, I was quickly referred to the Support Engineer position. The interview process was very straight forward with a initial call with a recruiter explaining the job and then a couple of questions about how you fit into the role with past job experiences and skills. After that I was sent a take-home assignment that needed to be done before the call and then presented to other engineers in a video call followed up by scenarios about how you would go about solving technical issues and explaining some networking stuff. After the conference call with engineers, the recruiter followed up to catch-up on how everything went, shortly after that we set a call with one of the directors of the team I would be working with. And last but not least final calls with recruiters to provide references to then proceed to the offer stage. The recruiters did a fantastic job on keeping in touch, finding times that work for you, making sure any questions were answered while also giving me details about the culture at Unity. Overall the recruiters were awesome, I've never been treated with such care at past interviews with other companies before. The calls with the team were also very engaging as well as they felt like having a conversation. Even though it might seem like the process took a while it could have been due to the Coronavirus happening in the world.

      Support Engineer Interview

      5 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Unity (Singapore) in Feb 2022

      Interview

This interview process helped me realized why Unity as a product is in the state it's in. Contacted by recruiter who told me I'm a great match for this role (they always do). Scheduled an interview 2 days later stating "the team wants to get all interviews done this week", "technical skills aren't important for this role as training will be provided", and "it's just an initial interview no preparation needed". BUT during the interview I was told that my lack of "recent professional experience" in using Unity was an issue (because obviously they couldn't confirm that before the interview right?) Radio silence for 2 weeks even though the recruiter said they would get back to me. Contacted recruiter directly but received no replies and no callbacks. It's been months now.

      Support Engineer Interview

      20 Oct 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Austin, TX) in Sept 2018

      Interview

I had an initial phone screening with an HR person. I had a second meeting via Zoom with the team manager. That was followed by a technical interview with the same manager to determine if I knew the basics of Linux and if I could follow instructions and find information on my own. My fourth interview was with the director of the department. And my last step was providing professional references for follow up.
