      Platform Scrum Master Interview

      25 Jan 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Viasat (San Diego, CA) in Dec 2019

      Interview

It was pretty quick to receive the recruiter screening call after I submitted the application online. From there on I had a zoom call with a panel and onsite interview with the hiring group. Both went really well. I waited to follow up with the recruiter until after the winter holidays assuming things might be slow during the holidays. after multiple follow ups I got a verbal offer from Viasat. Another 2 weeks passed by and the recruiter was very sporadic with her updates. only when i emailed or left her a voicemail. After leading me to believe the offer is almost on the way they eventually retracted the verbal offer citing changes in team structure. I had started to get a sense when they were dragging their feet with the offer. I agree its at -will and not a contract but if someone accepts their offer they would accept the person to follow through. Really frustrating ! if the recruiting process was so non-transparent and unfavorable after a successful interview I only wonder how management and the company values their employees and their successes. I would recommend anyone to not hold their breath for Viasat and carry on with their search or accepting any offers . You dont want to be left with nothing in hand.
