I had applied @ VISA through referral for the post of senior software engineer. I was called after some 3 weeks asking to attempt online test. First round was hackerrank test. The test consisted of 10 multiple choice questions in Database and Java, 5 coding questions in Java and one UI question on Angular 2. Once the test was done, after a month I was called to attend F2F interview rounds @ Visa Office in Mahadevapura, Bangalore. There were 3 F2F rounds in total. i. The 1st F2F round was mostly focussed in Java, Data Structures and Algorithms. It was around 1 hour duration. Questions asked were: What is the difference between abstract class and interface, what is the difference between arrayList and LinkedList, which data structures we use if we need key value pair in sorted order, write code to find whether a string is palindrome ignoring the case (upper/lower) and ignoring special characters and the algorithm should be inplace. ii. Second round was focussed on discussion about the projects done and how have we proceeded with it. Also, questions were based on behavioural aspects. I felt like the behavior of interviewer was quite condescending. a)How do we perform under pressure, Under what conditions my performance would reduce etc. b) Also, there were few coding questions about writing code to generate N Fibonacci numbers. c)Given the info that a moon becomes full moon on 1st day of month and goes to no moon on 15th day of month and back to full moon on last day of month. what is the percentage of moon visible? iii. Third round was the discussion about UI and DB concepts. The UI questions were focussed on angular concepts like components and angularjs concepts like digest cycle, directives etc. The DB questions were on MongoDB about sharding, indexing, taking data backup, update query etc. I was told I would be called for further telephonic rounds at the end. But I recieved email on the next working day that they have proceeded with another candidate.
