I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN) in Jul 2023
Interview
The interview process was a mess. I had an initial virtual screening and was scheduled for another interview. The day of the interview, they emailed about needing to reschedule, which was fine. When I called to try to reschedule, they seemed hesitant to commit to a date/time and said they would call back. I followed up again several days later when I didn’t get a call back. I attempted to contact someone several times and when they did finally call back, nearly 2 weeks after they needed to reschedule my interview, they assured me they were still interested in me as a candidate and said they would call me back within the hour. 5 days later they called to tell me they were moving ahead with another candidate. I feel fine about not getting the interview but communication was terrible, sporadic and unprofessional. It felt like they wasted a lot of my time and effort and soured my opinion of the Walker as a whole.

Interview
Group interview with three other candidates and two interviewers. Easy, standard questions about experience in customer service, hypothetical situations, etc.
My experience with HR was subpar. He was uncomfortable and unenthusiastic when he called for the phone screen. He gave me his personal cell phone number and then emailed me to invite me for an interview. He told me the wrong day and time for the interview over the phone, and then in the email did not restate the time of the interview, which resulted in me showing up at the time he had told me over the phone, but no one knew why I was there at that time. The email contained a line telling me I'd been selected for an interview and then a few sentences of copy/pasted parking instructions that didn't apply to me since I wouldn't be driving to the interview, and that's it. No time/date confirmation and no alternate instructions if I wasn't driving and parking in their garage.
Once I showed up at the time and date he had told me and we figured out the problem, he told me a time and date in person, and then after I left emailed me again to change the time. Once that was confirmed I received a generic, official interview invite from a Walker Art Center HR address, with more details but still containing only instructions for how to park there.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN) in Nov 2021
Interview
It was extensive but not cumbersome. I met with several team members and leaders. The discussions were helpful in informing my decision. I learned a lot as well as felt they did a good job vetting my experience.
