    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Web International English (Hangzhou, Zhejiang (China)) in May 2019.

    Interview

A short correspondence on wechat and then a 30 minute over-the-phone interview. They had said that they would normally do a second interview over the phone and perhaps even a teaching demo but told me it wasn't necessary as they were satisfied with my original interview and experience.

    Interview Questions

    • Interview was brief with a focus on my experience and how I would handle certain situations in class such as shy students, or getting them to talk as this is a common problem among older students. Also on my experience and willingness in hosting events they arrange.   2 Answers

    ESL Teacher Interview

Anonymous Employee in Guangzhou, Guangdong (China)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Web International English (Guangzhou, Guangdong (China)).

    Interview

Not a stressful interview, they basically wanted to see if we could keep a conversation going with beginner-level students. I was interviewed by someone who wasn't a teacher, and they used some company-internal jargon about teaching in questions, "hot corrections / cold corrections" which wasn't in any of my (several) previous TEFL / pedagogy trainings, so I felt comfortable bouncing that back at them. They really want to hear about how great the "communicative approach" is, IMO.
