      Furniture Department Head Interview

      7 Nov 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at World Market in Oct 2012

      Interview

I applied online and was called about a week later by the GM and set up an interview. The interview was pretty straightforward and typical for a retail interview. A big focus is customer service and multitasking, as the job requires balancing a large list of tasks and engaging all customers on the sales floor at the same time. After the first interview, I was sent to interview with the GM of another store the next day and two days later, I was job offered. The process is really quick, which is great. Research the company before you interview so you know a little bit about the products, Explorer program, and company history. Also be very business centric. Knowing the metrics is very important and shows that you have the ability to drive sales in your department and contribute to the overall success of the store.
