I applied through my university's job listing site. The entire interviewing process, including emails, was in Japanese.
I was contacted via email within a few days of applying. We set up a date for an on-site interview. When I arrived at their office, I was directed to a small conference room and had a short talk with the CEO while the interviewers were preparing. During that time, he asked some simple questions about what I study, what kind of classes I took, where I grew up, etc. He also gave a brief summary of what the company does.
The actual interview process was very straightforward. The interviewers explained to me what the company does (again) and what my role would be. They also asked some questions about my resume and I had a chance to ask them a few questions. Overall, the interview took about an hour. Everyone was very nice and respectful and they seem like great people to normally hang out with.
I was not offered the position as the interviewers and I quickly realized that the position was not something I was not particularly interested in.
