It started with a phone call where my manager and I introduced ourselves and we both checked if there might be a fit between my previous work experience and the position they are hiring for. Took about 1 hour, asked for references he could contact and checked if my values and work style might be a fit.
As I passed this pre-qualification round, I was invited to "The Panel".
They invite you to their office and give you topics with strict timelines so you can prepare your presentation accordingly. Managers and some of your potential colleagues simulate a real customer meeting where you have to pitch the value of Zscaler´s solution and answer usual customer´s questions. Also you have to present yourself as a person and as a professional, your previous work experience and give some real-world examples on how you sold and closed a complex deal. They ask a lot of clever and tough questions and you have to be well prepared. All in all it takes 90-120mins and is very intense.
This is the toughest selection process I have ever been in. I had a week to prepare, took it seriously and passed. The same evening they called me to let me know I would be their prefered candidate and will have 30 min phone interviews with each of their senior executives over the next 7 days which all happened timely. Then they made an offer within one week which I accepted and I came on board.
All in all a very professional, intense process that makes sure there is a mutual best fit.
