      Director Interview

      14 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at data.ai (New York, NY) in Mar 2022

      Interview

Awful, just awful. setting up interviews with them takes weeks. I don't think they care if they fill the position or not. first round is with CTO. second round is a panel of 3 (Product, data, and a no-show). Product was late and that panel like to ask questions really nothing to do with quality. They like to ask about your experience and drill further and they love asking my experience that's over decade ago. i don't think they were prepare at all, trying to "wing it" on the interview. i am totally not impressed with their leads. just an awful interview experience.

      Director Interview

      13 Sept 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at data.ai (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2017

      Interview

The interview consisted of: - 2 phone screens - A 3 hour in person with various App Annie employees One of my phone screens was with my would be supervisor in the role. I left the conversation not very impressed with the call. When I got the invitation to go in for an in person, I figured, hey, I may as well double check my gut instinct in person as he would be one of the people I would be meeting with in person. I was in the office for almost 3 hours and really enjoyed 2 of the 4 conversations. The conversation with the would be boss confirmed my initial feeling: was not going to be a match. Fine - this happens, not a big deal, move on. My problem here is that I spent a good deal of time speaking with this company, including coming on site. Not a word from the company following the interviews - complete silence. This is an unacceptable recruiting practice. It is rude, disrespectful, and just bad business. Candidates are stakeholders in any organization, and mistreating them is bad for business. Being an HR professional myself, I know there is no excuse for this - not a single one, ever.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked to describe programs I had put in place or helped put in place as part of an HR team. Questions were not difficult.

      Interview

      - Casual interview process overall - Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn - Phone Screen w/ recruiter - Phone Interview w/ hiring manager - Three rounds of onsite interviews (normally it would be two) - Efficient with scheduling my time over multiple interview stages - Friendly from recruiting team to interviewers - Transparent throughout the process and where I stood
