Terrible candidate experience. I had a recruiter screening call towards the end of December. The discussion was pretty typical, however the recruiter made specific mention that a) it was her last day at nearmap (she said she was a contract recruiter), and b) there are several other candidates much farther along in the process. Two things that probably shouldn't be said in a first interview.
Fast forward a couple weeks, another recruiter reached out to me apologizing that I never had an interview, however was selected to be screened. It seems like my first interview never happened. There was no record of our discussion. So I had a second-first interview with another contract recruiter.
Call went really well, we had a great discussion, and the recruiter ended the call letting me know that I should share my availability to speak with nearmap's VP of People and Culture, which I did.
On the day of the next interview about an hour prior to the call, the recruiter cancelled my interview because the person I was scheduled to speak with was traveling. She asked for my availability over the next days to line up another interviewer to speak with.
I provided additional availability, never heard back. Checked in with the recruiter after about a week and got no response.
If this is any indication of what it's like working at this company, I've dodged a bullet.. this is NOT how you treat candidates in the interview process.
