Can you describe what a great day at work means for you?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at the LEGO Group (London, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
The interview process consisted of 4 interviews and a tech test which I will detail below:
Interview 1: 30 minute summary of the available roles with a LEGO® in-house recruiter. Was helpful for both I and the LEGO group to figure out which roles I would suit, and wanted to go for.
Interview 2: 60 minute interview with a team manager. Went fairly in depth into my experience and skills, we talked about how work was done at the LEGO® Group and how I might fit in with that.
Technical test: A fairly open ended test where I was given a repository and series of tickets which were quite open ended.
Interview 3: A fairly long interview of around 90 minutes (If I remember correctly) with two engineers, half of the interview was dedicated to me explaining the choices I made and approach I took to solving the test, the other half was general questions about my experience and my understanding of modern technologies and practices. The interview was quite challenging, hover the engineers were extremely friendly, I felt like I got a lot out of the discussion for my personal development.
Interview 4: A final cultural fit interview, along with some questions on how I would get myself ready for the role and gain any knowledge that I might require.
The interview process did take a while, around 3 weeks, and was very thorough. This is no bad thing, it gave me the feeling that the LEGO® Group were sure that I would be a good fit at the time of offering, and gave me ample chance to work out if i wanted the role. Even if I hadn't been offered the role I still would have gotten a lot out of the process.

Question 1
As an predominantly back end engineer, they were keen on knowing my opinions of event driven architecture and AWS Serverless
I applied online for multiple junior IT engineer positions of which I easily meet the expectations. They spent over 3 months evaluating my applications, then declined. The automatic email they sent was terrible, the name and position wasn't even substituted correctly. Many of their postings are poorly written, sometimes with the whole job description missing. They never watched my linkedin, I have no idea how they choose candidates.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at the LEGO Group in Dec 2022
Interview
The interview had two significant parts - one part focusing on motivation and work related preferences. The second part - case study to assess general understanding of the subject matters relevant to the position.
