    Software Developer Co-Op Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Absolute (London, England) in November 2017.

    Interview

Applied online, scheduled an in-person interview shortly later. Came in early, but the guy who was supposed to interview me showed up 15 mins late, and asked no technical questions. Just asked about projects at school and other previous experience.

Second interview was very easy. Asked a couple technical questions on web, databases, pointers, etc. Some were very weird but really not tough at all. I was able to answer them all fast without issues. It felt scripted and it seemed like they try to trip me up. Some people randomly left during the interview without explaining why, which I found odd and a bit rude. Overall uninviting and unfriendly tone from people in the room.

Got an offer the next day on the phone, but for a new position I didn't even apply for. HR said they'd follow up to see if they could give me the position I applied and interviewed for, but later lied and said that would be unfair.

After reading Glassdoor reviews I decided there were better options. I don't doubt it's a decent place to work but the interview process was so broken.
