The company, also known as FonSAI, primarily offers auto and life insurance policies, as well as niche coverage in areas including accident, health, liability, fire, and product loss coverage, partially through subsidiary Milano Assicurazioni. Products are distributed through a network of independent agents, financial advisors, and banking affiliates across the country. Fondiaria-SAI was created in 2002 when Società Assicuratrice Industriale acquired La Fondiaria Assicurazioni. The Ligresti family owns about 45% of the company through their holding company Premafin Finanziaria.
