Pros

There were some great coworkers. A tiny bit of flexibility with the hours.

Cons

There was gossiping and a couple of coworkers bullied others. Upper management micromanages and assigns unnecessary paperwork of the BCBAs which should be done by someone else like the center manager, receptionist, or lead techs. They try to say we're a work family which it's a dysfunctional family. Center Director was lazy, did a few unethical things which he should have been fired over, and wasn't knowledgeable to be helpful.

Pros

Very laid back environment. The clinic is small so you get close to a lot of people you work with

Cons

Very disorganized and management is not the best. There is a strange favoritism to different RBTs. Because the clinic is so small drama spreads like wild fire. A lot of these people (even management) seem to start drama.

Pros

The pros of this company is that they have very little clients. Therefore, your caseload is going to be quite small..

Cons

You will be micromanage from day one. As a supervisor, you are not allowed to make your schedule ever. This means that if you have a doctors or dentist appointment, you will have to make up those hours. Management is typically unavailable at all times. You are expected to be either in the center or at home for 40 hours a week and that must be accountable. While at the company, I was forced to spend multiple hours up to four or five doing nothing based on their motto statement. You are treated like an entry-level employee from day one. If this is your first ABA job, you might not know better however, most companies just require you to meet a minimal of 25 hours. This place expects you to be present and doing nothing for the other hours. What they don’t tell you is that you have to wait three months to get any sort of benefits either. They claimed to be a nonprofit however they work style is very for-profit. I would highly recommend you not apply to this company, unless you are absolutely desperate.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences with us. We would not be able to create change for our employees if not for current and former staff communicating there concerns. We would like to address the concerns you have specified in your comment: Benefits and compensation: Pathways works on pay compensation each quarter to be competitive with companies our size and in our industry. We also do staff surveys to see what benefits they are most interested in us adding. Through these efforts we have added vision and dental to our other benefits for qualifying employees (paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance, life insurance, and professional development programs). Billing practices: Pathways billing department manages many contracts over 14 counties in MI and 2 counties in CA. Each service area has contracts with private insurances and medicaid. These staff are knowledgeable and experienced in their field and collaborate closely with the clinical staff to ensure we are protecting our patients. Clinical services: Clinical managerial staff are all educated and trained in the field of ABA. Through their education and years of experience, they meet the requirements necessary to provide services to our patients. We also have checks and balances in place to make sure goals are appropriate and meet the needs of the family. We also provide continued education for all staff. Again, thank you for your review.

Great Coworkers!

Pros

I met some really great people at Pathways! The coworkers are very friendly. When i first started out it was like a big happy family. The job itself was so interesting! I truly loved being a Technician! The scheduler was very flexible and would often work with you about things that come up!

Cons

Management started out fine, but rapidly went downhill. I did above & beyond my required duties and management often had high expectations for me. When I did make a mistake or didn’t know something, they would be a lot harder on me than others. The work place wasn’t a very equal environment. The work/life balance as a Tech was minimal, I can't imagine what it was like for supervisors. Management would often change things without asking any Techs what they would think, even though it would affect them the most. The last year there, they allowed so much drama and bullying, it was ridiculous. They often allowed those people to move up in the company as well. The turnover rate is very high, they allow certain employees to call in frequently but then if an employee calls in who doesn’t frequently they get talked to.

Wonderful work culture

Pros

Wonderful work culture Caring management team Good pay and benefits Passionate staff Flexible hours Great owners who are clinicians first, business people second New 401K plan with 4% match Growing company with new benefits being looked into daily

Cons

If your client doesn’t show up, there is the potential to not get paid. You can ask coworkers if they want to day off and can take their client, which is often the case, but if not, there is nothing for you to do and you go home. One perk is if it was a cancellation with less than 24 hour notice, the company will pay you for one hour, which is better than nothing!
