Pros

Clients and employees are treated honestly. The training is very thorough. Safety is a big priority and it gets discussed and focused on every day. Pay raises happen more frequently than expected. I received two raises a few months apart for good performance. My fellow workers are a great bunch of people. I felt like all of the managers were real people and cared about me as a person. I didn't feel like a number and they did flex on some accommodations that I needed, especially when I was caring for a sick family member over a few months time.

Cons

There are very detailed rules to learn. Managers are fair but can seem a little particular or nit picky, like rating my work vehicle clenliness lower because of fast food bags on the floor. Arrival morning start time is one size fits all without flexibility which I why I had to leave this job. Another thing that annoyed me is that my manager kept trying to get me to better myself and move up by taking classes at Purdue or read a book. She couldn't understand why I wouldn't want to move up or learn more. I have two children, a father I needed to care for, and both my house and my father's house to take care of, so I really didn't have any extra energy to give. I wasn't completely direct about not wanting to read books and take classes, and I probably should have been more direct, but when I said every time that it wasn't a good time for me to undertake that, I don't appreciate being coached about it again six weeks later. Managers can be a little over eager to have coaching and development meetings and might not consider that some of us just want a job and don't want to take on more responsibility even if it eventually means more pay.
