Pros

Young and fun culture, very fast-paced environment, fairly good work-life balance depending on your portfolio of clients and time of year, phenomenal perks/benefits (gym subsidy, partially subsidized bistro on-site, corporate outings, annual loyalty bonus miles.)

Cons

Mature company seeing growing competition has led to significant organizational changes which sometimes appear disorganized/chaotic. Company is not growing as quickly anymore which has reduced annual bonus payouts. Middle and senior management is tenured and sometimes lacks ability/desire to innovate quickly/think outside the box. Highly political internal culture. Generally under-paid versus industry average.

Pros

Amazing new office with great views, sit to stand desks, outdoor patio, games room, wellness studio. Top Executives are phenomenal. Strong focus on learning and development.

Cons

Company culture has declined, used to be very collaborative and friendly, now there's a lot of uncertainty and many associates and some senior management are either competitive, don't get along or are not genuine. HR is a real blocker in terms of compensation, many people have to leave to get proper industry benchmark salaries. Certain groups are very overworked, 70+ hr weeks

Pros

SOME great co-workers who are friends. Vacation is good. Standing desks. Nice view.

Cons

The company outlined a bunch of great values but they’re more decorative hall coverings than anything else. Authenticity, Collaboration… not things that are actually rewarded. Instead, politics reign making any healthy tension toxic rather than helpful and ruining most opportunities for true collaboration. Senior leadership are the worst offenders for toxic politics and it bleeds down through their teams. Politics are prioritized above alignment making it hard to deliver meaningful work. When work isn’t delivered it becomes a blame game with senior management pointing fingers.

Pros

I liked the people and culture.

Cons

It's a marketing company and a lot of the decisions regarding technology are directionless and made by senior management who are business/marketing people

HR Professionals Beware!

Business outlook

Pros

Decent benefits, onsite gym, subsidized cafeteria.

Cons

The turnover (both voluntary and involuntary) is the highest I have ever experienced in any organizations I have worked for. Many departments within HR have had over 100% annual turnover for the past 2-3 years. There is no HR strategy and the same work gets done year after year with no actual results. HR Leaders will cave to any request by Senior Management regardless of the impact on people. Front line HR roles bear the brunt of "client" anger and do not get any support from their leaders. The HR Leadership team is by far the weakest group of HR "professionals" I have ever worked under. HR technology is owned by the parent company in the US so there is very little input or authority the local HR group has to make changes. HR Managers and below are very hard workers and good people, but are constantly bombarded with "strategy" changes, reporting structure changes, and overall indecision to be effective. There is no senior leadership expertise in the areas of Recruitment, Performance Management, Employee Culture, or HR Strategy. Recruiting Professionals, DO NOT accept a job at LoyaltyOne/Precima

Patience is a Virtue

Pros

- If you're willing to wait for it, you will progress at this organization - Employment perks including a fabulous location, interesting people, great subsidized bistro and lots of extra-curricular opportunities - VERY smart Senior Leaders

Cons

- Recently, there has been a mass exodus of specialist-level roles. The organization has a huge discrepancy between the number of specialists and the number of managers, leading to a large number of people leaving after 2+ years when they realize they'll be stuck at their current level for several more years unless they leave. This coupled with a lack of transparency on progression of career from Senior management equals some serious issues with levels of employee satisfaction. It's easy to get frustrated here. - Incredibly busy day-to-day with little time or desire for improving resourcing or filling open roles to ease the strain - very limited by technology that is outdated and clunky; seems to be no urgency around updating it in a timely manner - Low YOY increases in pay (typically around 2%) - Wellness benefits and matching opportunities are sub-par

Pros

The people! I work with some fantastic, bright, innovative, passionate, and self motivated people. Senior management is focussed on cultivating an engaged workforce, where associates are encouraged to actively participate in the development and future of our business.

Cons

The organization is undergoing some cultural changes/shifts at the moment. It will set us up for future success, however many are struggling through the changes, and can't look beyond to see the longer term benefits. If you are uncomfortable with change this is not the place for you.
