Pros

Working at Artiq was a deeply rewarding experience. The company is mission-led, with a genuine commitment to supporting artists and making art more accessible across industries. I had the opportunity to help scale the business, build out new revenue streams, processes and infrastructure, and work alongside a passionate, creative, and driven team. The culture encourages innovation, and leadership is open to new ideas and ways of working. It’s a place where you can make a real impact and grow in your career. 10/10

Cons

As with any fast-growing, ambitious company, we had growing pains—but were always aware of areas to develop. At times, the pace could be intense, though emphasis was always placed on a positive work/life balance. These challenges are typical of a scaling business and were actively being addressed. I applaud the commitment to improvement and feedback - a rarity.

Pros

A big focus on learning and development, with independent training budgets to find the right course or qualification for your own career development. A robust onboarding process that helps team members settle in quickly and lots of opportunity to move around in the business. A big emphasis on being ambitious for the company and for the artists, but it's a collaborative, encouraging environment so everyone is working together for the same end goal which creates a really positive and purpose driven environment.

Cons

There's currently a big push towards digital innovation and technology upgrades which is going to make a big difference to some of the administrative processes!

Pros

I worked across various roles in the Arts Team at ARTIQ, progressing in experience, responsibilities, and confidence during my time there. It was a fast-paced environment, with an all-hands-on-deck mentality at times, but that is what made it such a thrilling place to work - encouraging a nimble, flexible, reactive approach that was ahead of its time (and which others arts businesses are now seeking to replicate). I had close working relationships with almost every employee, and felt that our wellbeing was always a priority - and that hard work was always rewarded. I have since returned to the company on an occasional freelance basis, and have maintained good personal and professional relationships with many of my former colleagues (including Senior Management).

Cons

At times, the environment could be fast-paced and the workload demanding but this is simply the nature of the art world; having worked in commercial galleries, auction houses, museums, and as an art advisor with my own clients, I never found the pace to be unrealistic or unusual. More importantly, I always felt supported and that others were willing to assist in order to get projects over the line in time for a client.
