Pros

Working here is the closest somebody will come to feeling like they're working in a family. By the time I departed, I knew everybody's name and could walk around chatting with anybody in the building. The work is always interesting; being in a niche industry there's always more to learn and new ways to apply the technology you work on. Benefits are excellent and the company is Employee Owned; everybody feels invested and as a result we all knew what was going on not just in our department but across the company as a whole. Plus the profit share is sweeeeeet. Company listens to feedback; any negative I had in my exit interview was something that was already known and had some sort of plan in place to address.

Cons

My only major complaint would be project management, in that often times it was vague or lacking specific direction. However, at the time I left this was a known issue and a number of plans were in place to address this. Any complaint I had in my exit interview already had things in place to work on it. Otherwise, equipment is not a place to try and save money - give your employees the best laptops you can, and you will recoup your investment massively in the work they can get done! Also, PLEASE put salary ranges in your adverts!

Pros

The company honestly feels like family - I knew everybody's name and got on well with everybody. They work hard to maintain their cultural identity which shows in how employees feel. The work was always rather interesting, being in a niche field means there's always more to learn. Being employee owned helped everyone feel responsible and also means that everybody stays up to date in the company as a whole. I only left due to a dream job opportunity coming up, otherwise I'd have happily stayed for as long as they'd have me.

Cons

Project goals and aims can sometimes be vague and changing, which can be addressed with better planning and mapping. However, ths is a known issue and when I left there were plans in place to improve this. Beyond that, honestly nothing. Depending on your view the location could be considered one but IMO it definitely isn't.
