Soulless Grind

Pros

There are undoubtedly a lot of intelligent people at the company, from all across the world, and a variety of backgrounds, which does make for stimulating conversation at lunch time.

Cons

The company culture is the epitome of a soulless grind. It is almost a parody of a dry, humourless corporate office job. Expect to be squeezed for every ounce of work you can muster, without any consideration for how you feel as a human being. You are nothing but a number on a spreadsheet. Moreover, as a consultant, most of the work you will be doing will be the incredibly tedious busy work that the clients can't be bothered to do themselves. There is also a layer of upper management who's job roles a mystery. Most of the actual work is done by the more junior people at the company. The upper management's entire role seems to be taking the request from the client and giving it to the junior consultants. They could be replaced by an email.

Pros

Honestly, none that come to mind. Even if I wanted to highlight something positive, I can't.

Cons

Sudden layoffs without warning, offering no job security despite claiming to be a top consulting firm No clear vision in projects, often taking on work unrelated to the company's expertise or claimed values Incompetent management Lack of support Zero empathy No consideration for employees' personal situations Direct harassment from management Extremely toxic work culture Low salary No work life balance

Thank you for your feedback on Glassdoor. We sincerely apologise for the negative experiences you’ve encountered. Your feedback is crucial for identifying areas needing improvement. Job Security and Layoffs: We understand that sudden layoffs can create an atmosphere of uncertainty and anxiety. The recent redundancy process which took place this year was a single event due to the recent challenging tech environment. The suggestion redundancies occur twice a year is incorrect. We are actively reviewing our workforce planning strategies to ensure greater transparency in this area. Management and Support: It is upsetting to hear about incompetent management and lack of support. We are committed to continuously coaching our managers in leadership, communication, and empathy. Work Culture and Harassment: A toxic work culture and harassment are unacceptable. We are committed to a safe and respectful workplace, with policies and training to prevent harassment. Please report any incidents so we can take immediate action. Compensation and Work-Life Balance: We regularly review our salary structures for competitive pay and support work-life balance with hybrid, flexible working arrangements. We are committed to addressing these issues to ensure a positive work environment. If you are open to discussing your experiences in more detail, please reach out to me directly at london@accesspartnership.com. This will be treated in confidence. Thank you once again for bringing these matters to our attention. Best regards, Morwenna (People Director)

Pros

There are some wonderful people at the company who are empathetic and understanding. The company is extremely multicultural, which makes for fascinating conversations. Some aspects of the work can be interesting. Learning and development is valued by the company (but needs more work by line managers to make it worth something). Great networking opportunities

Cons

- Not a well-performing company - Toxic work culture - Extremely poor work-life balance (Expect messages asking for work on PTO days and late at night] - Below average salaries for London - Generally low quality of work - No job security (recently went through a redundancy process, won't be surprised to hear of another soon) - Seems to be no strategic direction - Structure changes often - A lot of managers (not all) can show an alarming lack of empathy, bordering bullying. - Preaches their expertise but gets an alarming number of things wrong in thought leadership pieces. If you can, avoid. But if you take a position here keep looking for other jobs in the meantime for the sake of your mental health.

We are also glad that you find value in our Learning and Development initiatives. However, we are deeply concerned about the issues you’ve raised regarding work culture, work-life balance, and management practices. We take these matters very seriously and are committed to creating a supportive and healthy work environment for all employees. We do not accept bullying at Access Partnership and I’d appreciate you reaching out to myself at london@accesspartnership.com so I can hear more details around these concerns. The redundancy process which took place earlier this year was a single event due to the recent challenging tech environment and we are continually working on strategies to support a positive culture. We encourage current employees to reach out to HR or their managers with any specific concerns or suggestions for improvement. Thank you again for your candid review. Your insights are invaluable as we strive to make our company a better place to work.
