Pros

Work colleagues made it possible to survive. Unfortunately, I'd have preferred to thrive! I had one excellent manager for two years.

Cons

The words "commitment" and "quality" are tossed around a great deal, but the culture doesn't bear it out. Quantity is All. There is a note on the employee web page that states, "we appreciate effort but reward results." The level of disorganization is astounding and exhausting. Every day of the last two years I felt whipsawed: one set of expectations from management one day, a different plan the next. Plans and programs poorly laid out, poorly explained, poorly managed. "Transparency" there is an evil joke. There isn't any. Management relies on employees' inability to fight back to push through demeaning requirements like having to sign out to go to the bathroom, of all things. What they call their team focus is really management's absolute control and refusal to operate in in a professional, collegial manner.

Pros

Clinical experience gets offices and some respect; get to work on a variety of issues, including software development experience, team management, and responsibilities; great client facing opportunities (which led to my current job!); Aetna parent is supporting the company (for now at least); Good people in the original Active to work with

Cons

I spent too much time having to bow to senior executives that loved to hear the sound of their own voices; more than half the medical directors left in the last year, and the IT group was moved out because of high level politics. the Healthagen structure is a big problem - inside politics killing ActiveHealth

Pros

Used to be a nice place until Aetna bought the company several years ago. Co-workers are the only pro.

Cons

Major micromanagement. You have to account for every minute of your work, if your not meeting target, your "spoken to". They care more about quantity than quality. If your 1 minute over your break time, you will get called on by your supervisor. Emails are demeaning. Professionals are treated like factory workers. Lots of responsibilities, little time. No appreciation. Don't even think about stepping away from your desk or talking to your co-worker during the time you should be working; you will be called out by your manager. Don't work here, its a hell hole!
