Good technology, poor execution

Pros

The concept of electronic shelf labels for retail is good. And Altierre has done a reasonably good job in the design of the label itself. With a little more focus on QA and design, the product could be what it's advertised to be.

Cons

As others have mentioned, the CEO is a notorious micro-manager. Of course, it is the perogative of the CEO to act in that manner if that's what he feels is necessary. But the proof is in the pudding in this case. The company is not doing well. Altierre really only has one customer left, despite years and years of "talking" to larger retailers like G*p, W*****t, and S*****y. So now the company is bleeding cash and has difficulty paying its bills. It's pretty clear now that these large retailers won't trust Altierre with such a large investment since it's financially weak. It may be time to sell out to a larger company that actually knows what it's doing.

Pros

Like others have indicated...good gig if you don't have to report directly to CEO or attend his witch hunting meetings.

Cons

Upper management completely unqualified for their positions, CEO, CFO, CTO are all a joke. The CEO has Napoleon complex and this company will never succeed until he is removed from day to day operations and strategic planning. This place is flying by the seat of its pants with no coherent product plan or road map. The 'Board" is stacked with upper management and cronies so no help can be expected from there. If I was one on the VCs or Kohls and had invested money in this company I would screaming for changes long before now.....either way, the CEO and CTO are well paid and millionaires at this point..Thanks VCs!..This is very difficult for hard working (stock owning) employees to understand..where are you investors!..Only you can fix this!

Pros

If the CEO does not care about the details of your work, life is good. They have a unique product with good potential

Cons

If your job entails anything the CEO has an opinion on, you are screwed. No proper marketing, sales, product road maps, no coherent plan. Lots of wasted effort People work at a minimum level to compensate for no pay increase since company founded.
