Americaneagle's culture is closer to something out of Office Space than any modern internet company. Employees show up just so they can clock out. Upper management does not trust their employees. They require employees to clock in with their badges before 9 am and you can't clock out until you have been at the office for 9 hours - this is separate from the billing system that you must also use. There are two all company parties a year, with no other dedicated time for culture building. You will not find any women or minorities in upper management positions. Fox News is on constantly in the cafeteria - matching the conservative political opinions at the company. Americaneagle does not effectively use any resource management strategies. Employees are overworked and most projects are poor quality. At the end of the day Americaneagle is trying harder to force their employees to do work, instead of making employees enjoy working there.

Private company that dumps loads of work on everyone without warning, leading to team members juggling multiple projects and being super stressed all the time. I worked as a PM there and I lead many projects at the same time, all given to me within a few months of joining. They ranged from small several month long ones to big multi-year long ones that would usually require one's sole attention. As you can imagine, it was awful both for teams and the clients who rightfully expected our full attention. They say that the company is "agile", but it's actually using full on Waterfall on projects. I'm not kidding at all. Like we did whole projects with classic Waterfall steps all the way to QA being at the very end. That's unheard and downright dangerous in commercial consulting. On top of that, they use this insanely archaic timekeeping system requiring you to explain exactly what you did for each several hours or less. They were extremely particular about it too as I had someone reach out to me a few times asking for detailed explanations on what I meant by some of the notes I left on hours worked. I think the owners were lawyers at one time/were influenced by lawyers, and thought it was a great idea to implement the same system in for a web dev company... What's hilarious is that I remember in new employee HR training videos the owners even try to argue and make points specifically that it's a great system even though everyone in the company hates it with a passion. This goes doubly so with the fact that projects are underfunded (coming from a PM again), so everyone's spending each Friday afternoon doing math gymnastics with hours trying to get to 40 without using each projects precious funding up. Even if they use the excuse that it's for transparency with clients, that's straight up malarkey considering every other big and small consulting company I've been at before and after has only ever asked for employees to put just their hours in. It's not necessary for clients to know, and is most likely used as an excuse for micro-management purposes. Don't be fooled by their overall Glassdoor rating either. Many colleagues I worked with surmised that several of the positive ratings come from the company itself since it's not uncommon to find short generic positive reviews with one or two sentences of little substance here. Like with any company you're interested in, look at the negative reviews before positives to truly understand what's wrong a company; there's a lot here. Oh, also as a new employee I got 15 days total for a year to use for time off. No extra sick days, just 15 days to use in the FULL year. That's like the bare minimum for a company to give - a complete joke. It doesn't really get any better with tenure either. Regardless, expect some of the worst PTO/benefits in the industry. There's more I could really say, but this cons list is getting long and I imagine I've made my point now. I bounced out so hard in less than a year. Stay far away from them if you want to be treated like an actually respected employee and care about your work-life balance.
