Pros

1. SOME of the people there are great 2. See #1

Cons

1. Non-existent culture or identity (what does this company do well? What do they do? What is Andromeda? What's their story? 2. Non-existent processes (circus-like atmosphere) 3. Toxic attitudes (bad middle managers with bad attitudes) 4. Layers of Tape (why does a 50-person... oops, 40-person??? company need so many "leaders") 5. Office sabotage (literally the worst I've ever seen at any work environment) 6. Bad technology, bad equipment, bad office layouts, bad ideas, bad leadership. 7. Laid off 5 people in one day with no exit interviews (mine was a 2-for-1 we'll tell you and someone else at the same time, oh and She gets Severance but You Don't. Oh well!!!!) 8. Thanks for laying me off so I can go work at a real place now. 9. Nepotism (roughly 1/3 of the company is family, vendors and partners are chosen based on who is related to who rather than what they actually provide.) 10. Bad management

Pros

I enjoyed their focus on company culture from my direct supervisor. In addition, I felt like I had a voice in determining direction of the company when it came to important decisions. They had decent systems in place for benefits and collaboration. I felt comradery with my coworkers, which helped during some of the more difficult times while I was there.

Cons

There is definitely a lack of understanding of how to maximize profit in ethical ways. It seemed to me that ownership was still stuck in a business model that worked back in the 90s when technology management was much more difficult for smaller companies to take care of in-house. This meant that managing racks and racks of servers for small companies was necessary and required expertise to manage. Now, everything can be done remotely in the cloud and service is where you make money. What I saw is a clear bias toward trying to push brick and mortar hardware and give discounts on the service. This makes sense if you're 4 guys in your garage managing a small amount of clients who don't have any idea what they are doing with technology back in the 90s. However, if you ask any growing technology management company, they will tell you that they make no money on hardware and make everything from providing specialized managed services that they can deliver on successfully and partnering with other specialized managed service providers to fill in the gaps. There was some of this for certain services, but Andromeda definitely erred on the side of saying "Yeah we can take care of everything you need." and figure it out later. In the short time I was at the company I saw multiple instances of this which caused utter chaos when we could not provide the level of service the customer expected after being sold something by a sales person.
