Very few positives

Pros

Working in the London office that manages the European region that contributes to circa 80% of the companies revenue, there are few positives to speak to. What you can say though is that from middle management and below, the people are great. The teams are full of hard workers that want the best for their customer, they are social and friendly but constantly working against the back drop of a poorly managed company. The same can be said for the support team who work in India

Cons

The company has severely deteriorated and has not been able to manage its modest growth. The word start up still gets thrown around for a company that has been operating for more than 21 years. It is used like an excuse to cover for the lack of leadership by the executive team along with 'growth' and 'being dynamic'. Without ranting the following explains why Asite is failing. No product strategy. No business strategy. Absent CEO who when present, which is rarely, would rather argue than collaborate CEO who thinks they knows best CEO who can't listen Zero employee benefits - LITERALLY zero False promises on incentives and commission plans No independent HR team No budgets for company socials No budget for personnel development Require prior budget approval to expense anything, even a bus to visit a client who is in London Huge amounts technical debt Thousands of bugs Cover up than rather face up approach to platform performance No marketing team Tiny pipeline PMO unable to manage resource Circa 200+ people in the India development office but minimal output

Pros

Asite provides a fantastic opportunity to anyone wishing to understand how to drive a good business and brand into the ground.

Cons

Firstly, NOTICE ONLY THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Anything positive on here from the last year are from employees that have been forced into writing false accounts of what it's like to work at Asite by a clueless, coercive leadership group. Challenges at Asite grow by the day. These include managing an angry and dissatisfied client base and selling/marketing (no marketing team so good luck) an archaic, bug-ridden software that has been left in the dust by it's competitors. However, the biggest challenge to any new Asite employee is locating a light behind the eyes of any of their colleagues. A once talented, excited workforce that has been underappreciated and undervalued for so long that all belief and positivity in a once happy workplace, has long since left the building. You can expect to receive what the board believes is an attractive starter package. This includes: - 5 DAYS A WEEK IN OFFICE NON-NEGOTIABLE - Non-competitive salary - The ability to expense virtually nothing - No share options - State of the art coffee machine (bring your own coffee) and a pool table that can be used only after working hours. The absolute reality is that if the company doesn't fold, it will be sold in the next year or so. That is certain. Then, the only memory of this former industry stalwart will return in the form of vivid nightmares for anyone unlucky enough to call this company their place of work in the last few years. For anyone considering a job at Asite, please think really hard. This isn't a good company and this isn't a happy company. You will be rewarded and appreciated for your efforts tenfold at pretty much anywhere else in the industry. To the wonderful Asite team, jump in a lifeboat and save yourselves from a company that is now destined to sink. Whatever happens, the grass will be greener.

Don’t work here

Pros

The only positives are the wonderful people you get to work with from middle management and down. It’s also a good stepping stone for someone who just started their career.

Cons

Asite has changed so much and it seems like it’s only going downhill. Employees don’t feel valued or rewarded for their hard work. Unless you spend time with the clique, you won’t really advance in this company. The only benefits they offer is 21.50 pounds towards your gym membership, a sad Perkbox subscription and cycle to work. Hybrid/flexible work applies only for people that the manager you have and if clique likes you. Otherwise, the will push for you to come in the office as much as possible. The culture is the responsibility of the employees but there’s no budget for anything. No budget for team activities, no budget for personal development and the travel policies are scrutinised to the max. For any travel approval, you’d have to sort your tickets and accommodation out and pay from your own money and then expense it. You’ll probably receive the expenses back in a month but there were cases where people had to wait more than that. The COO and CEO absolutely don’t care and have zero leadership skills. They spend most of their time fighting the board or trying to please them. The COO lacks empathy and instead of caring for the staff, they just put everyone down. There were talks about rewards, bonuses and incentives but that never happened. It’s like dangling a carrot in front you. The whole mindset is take take take and never give back. The product is in shambles and needs massive improvement however the product team is busy fighting fires. All in all it feels like we’re only working to make the board and investor richer but our efforts aren’t rewarded.
