Cons

- Building up infrastructure alongside fast schedule - Growth so quick it is hard to get to know people - Full time in person office policy, generally not open to negotiating regular work from home schedules

Pros

Commercial aerospace is an exciting space to be in Company has gained a lot of traction publicly Some colleagues are great people

Cons

"Too much disrespectful behavior allowed without consistent consequences for bad behavior" "Lack of trust" "Lack of transparency and information sharing" "Fear of speaking honestly, candidly and openly about concerns and direction" These are some of the top concerns/results from a company-wide survey. What's more, Axiom's first CFO quit less than 2 weeks after joining, and Axiom's first HR manager quit as well after trying to improve the company culture in vain. Aside from a handful of great colleagues that made it a bit better, my experience was horrendous. My manager would routinely reach out to me at 10 pm on a Saturday night to complete some "urgent" work, while leaving me completely idle with no follow-up tasks during regular business hours. There was no training o and constant micromanagement, even of those colleagues who are obviously hardworking and highly competent. Due to a gap in internal tech implementation, there was also a brief period during which we could see all of the internal emails, and I saw my manager making up blatant!!! lies about my team members and me... And this is a company that's supposed to be pioneering space tech! The icing on the cake was that Axiom was fully in-person throughout the entire pandemic - people didn't wear masks until an outbreak happened, and even then, there was only a few weeks' pause until everyone was expected back for to be in the office everyday.

Pros

The lower level people are great. I have been able to work with and learn from some incredible people. Opportunities to take on lots of responsibility early in your career. If you are ambitious and show initiative, you will be able to take on just about anything.

Cons

The pros are moot because it feels unlikely we are able to succeed at this point. Extremely poor leadership. Upper management has shown time and time again they have no idea what is happening on the ground floor. The most recent example is a layoff of 15% of the Station workforce which included key engineers, simply because upper management did not take the time to understand who was doing what work. Constant shifting of priorities makes it impossible to complete anything. You will be told what you are working on is the top priority. You will feel that this is finally the time Axiom follows through and builds a design, only for priorities to shift once again. I have been at Axiom for years and this has happened more times than I can count. Axiom claims to be a world-class engineering company, but it is all talk. Axiom is incapable of actually building any hardware.
