I worked at Axios Systems (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Annual leave: 30 days plus one extra day for the first five years you complete in the company. Depending on what team you’re in it makes a huge difference, and also who your manager is, who will train you, how much your manager is valued and how good he is, etc.

    Cons

Not trusting people to work from home except of very special circumstances or depending on your team leader and his manager. No career path, no investment on staff. Salary reviews do not come easily depending on what pay level you’re in. No matter what position one is: one month notice period for leaving the company.

    Advice to Management

More open minded to fresh ideas, more welcoming to growth plans

    Pros

Great workforce who work hard despite owners daily micro-management.

    Cons

You must give serious consideration before joining this organisation. If you are looking to develop any skills or indeed have industry experience to share with the business this is not the place for you. The organisation is 30 years old and the attitude to people management and working environment definitely reflects this. By all means use this as a possible "jumping off" point for a future role but make no plans for a long term career here. Beware quick HR recruitment/on-boarding and just as rapid departure process.

    Advice to Management

Get more connected to your people & listen to the direction/advice the head of business functions give.

I worked at Axios Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's hard to place some here after everything that I witnessed & found out at my time with this business.

You will meet some absolutely lovely colleagues there who deserve so much better, some loyal people who are being completely taken advantage of with awful paid salaries - some staff not even meeting the living wage.

    Shift pattern

    Cons

Wish I came here first before accepting a role at this company as sadly a lot of things that were raised on here back in 2015 - 2017 are still sadly very much taking place. I have been lucky enough to escape, after some reflection I now unfortunately wish I never ever worked for this company.

The few long term staff will advise you to keep your head down and avoid the family at all costs. Not a healthy place to be in & never before have I worked in an environment like this that was so unprofessional to advise you to take this approach just to survive.

One member of management unfortunately has extreme unprofessional issues which causes erratic behaviour for senior management to handle and constantly puts the business at risk. The rest of the staff pay the price when those days come along.

Be prepared to see verbal abuse from family to staff members - You can't report it or tell HR about anything as they are forced to help the family cover everything up.

Family hold secret meetings & do not communicate with departments about team/staff/company changes leaving staff constantly on edge.

Have treated some loyal colleagues terribly, seen some grown men escorted out the premises.

Every department doesn't want to get in trouble therefore a lot of issues and staff feelings are swept under the carpet as nobody can turn to HR.

Family's attitude and entitlement therefore sadly means you are treated like the help most days and have to tiptoe around departments.

    Advice to Management

Family need to sell the company and hire a professional team to run everything.

Stop treating loyal staff poorly & involving them in your personal family problems.

Provide staff with fair pay - at least meeting above living wage.

Stop making HR force staff to post positive templated reviews - it's embarrassing and again very unprofessional - respect to the staff who refuse to take part in it.

    Pros

Hard to say and yet have to write enough here to get to the cons which is the easy part. Met some nice people, now feel sorry for them.

    Cons

Where to start, firstly the fake reviews stories. Whilst there i overheard the owners discussing glassdoor and they have 2 tactics (1) they cajole or bully existing staff to post good stuff or do it themselves. NOTE the spate og ood ones all grouped together. I am not sure if they truly belief their guff or they know but want to cover it up. The commonest correct word for here is TOXIC. I have seen so many good people join and then go when they realise. We just lost two more senior technical leaders and rumour as i left was more looking to leave as soon as they find the right role. Avoid at all costs unless you like punishment.

    Advice to Management

Not worth giving any as they never listened when i was there and the view of existing long term staff was dont bother - agree and get on or leave . PS they genuinly think their product is better than Servicenow, BMC and so on - companies investing more a year than Axios ever has !!! delusional !

    Pros

Great big windows in office which you can look out and wish you didn’t work at Axios
    Close to centre of city

    Cons

Horrible, toxic atmosphere. Long term employees are the only ones who last that are willing to agree with the opinions and foibles of the nasty family who run it.
Great place to work, just to provide absolute clarity over the career move you wish you never made.
Reach out on LinkedIn to ex-employees and ask them to comment on whether this is the right move for you.......it won’t be.
Customers are treated with contempt and sales staff have an impossible job to compete.
Outdated product, management style and premises.
You only have one life, don’t waste a moment here

    Advice to Management

    Pointless

I worked at Axios Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It will all be over soon. They're on their last legs so thankfully there won't be too many others who will naively think "it can't be that bad" and accept a job here.

Oh, and there's a bowl of rancid mints by the front door. You can take one if you like. The cleaner will thank you as it's less for them to dust. Your stomach on the other hand...

    Cons

As many others have said, a toxic, chaotic environment where the owners disregard for their employees is only surpassed by their disregard for their customers.

The owners have managed to harness every negative trait of being a family run business. Think of the Manson Family but with a bit less humanity.

There is no trust, no respect and no time but for their own vanity and greed. Communication and collaboration are actively discouraged and punished. In fact, the only communication you're likely to receive is verbal abuse from one of the owners when you invariably say or do the wrong thing (in their eyes) Don't for one minute think you have the political sensitivity to keep yourself safe. Due to the constant in-fighting between the owners, you'll invariably "take sides" with one of them meaning the others will place you clearly in their target sights. When that happens you may as well clean out your desk.

I could go on and on but the energy spent writing these few words is already far more than they deserve.

Do yourself a favor if you're thinking of accepting a role here, ask around. Speak to the local recruiters; hear what they have to say. However bad you think it sounds you can be sure it's far worse. They hemorrhage staff and can't hire for a very good reason.

    Advice to Management

To offer anything would be an utter waste of time and an exercise in futility. They know everything so what could a mere prole offer such enlightened individuals?

    Pros

Plenty opportunities to learn if you grab them. Some lovely people works here. Good place to start an IT career if you don’t have much experience.

    Cons

Lack of career outlook for employees, very slim on career progression. Micro-managed. Not so competitive salary. Favouritism all over the place.

    Advice to Management

Start listen out to employees at all levels not just the middle tier. Promote the right people, not the longest serviced staff. Start having real appraisals. Research on what other companies are offering in 2018 instead of 2008. Look into real performance from your employees and not just numbers. Reward employees based on their contribution and performance with proper pay reviews and real promotions.

    Pros

    - They paid me, for my unplesant time working there.

    Cons

    - Family owned and ran, these people are snake oil merchants.
    - Product is very poor and in a legacy state, much better products available.
    - Some senior tech staff are very little knowledge of the IT world out side of there small company.
    - Has no future in the market place, I honestly can't see any companies bring this system into there environment. looks like something from 1997 not 2017.
    - Tasos Symeonides

    Advice to Management

Sell the company, possibly could be salvaged if ran by more technical business savvy people. This product may have worked well 10 - 15 yours ago but the world has moved on.

    Pros

More agile than super large american competitors. It does seem like there is a campaign from some staff let go to write negative reviews and lie about their tenure, role, employment status etc. It is a shame because the majority of staff are working hard and delivering good results. The product is a top 5 product out of over 500 globally which is something we that work here are v proud of. Great buildings and location in capital city

    Cons

100% specialist firm focused on ITSM and ITAM solutions. Can be a plus but diversification could help with more growth.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on people and product.
