Pros

Those involved in tax technical training are dedicated and passionate about the subject. Their enthusiasm is genuinely inspiring.

Cons

There are many, but to focus on a few: - Terrible culture People who pick their colleagues apart and displace blame onto others are rewarded to the extent that you feel you have to preemptively defend yourself in many day to day interactions. You find yourself approaching what should be a run-of-the-mill discussion armed with timestamped messages and emails to try to defend yourself. Managers will sit quietly going through your emails to try to prove that you’ve missed something in order to blame you for a deadline being missed. Frequently, situations that could be swiftly resolved through open conversations with all parties involved are not addressed and needlessly prolonged, transforming them into nightmarish and adversarial experiences. My former colleagues have expressed reluctance to address mistakes made by managers on the claims they were handling. They feared potential repercussions if they were to bring up these concerns to the team, as it could be used against them and result in punishment. Sometimes you go months without any work to do (which in practice is incredibly dull). Then, in certain months a huge amount of pressure is put on staff to meet arbitrary deadlines. Management actively discourage after-hours socialising. - Poor work-life balance I was strongly encouraged to sacrifice annual leave for medical appointments even during periods when I was working huge amounts of overtime, 7 days a week. When I booked annual leave sometimes I would be informed at very short notice that I would not be allowed to take it for which my annual leave was not paid back. I was explicitly told that in order to be considered to for promotion I would need to visibly work overtime. The working is not flexible – both in hours and in location. They expect you to make up the time for doctor appointments even when you’re working huge amounts of overtime. They currently mandate an average of 2.5 days in the office a week, subject to change from October onwards. Any sick leave taken is subtracted from your remote working allowance. They’ve just upscaled to a bigger office so I imagine this will only get more demanding from this point on. I’ve run this review past multiple members of the current team at Ayming and all of them have strongly agreed with its content. Looking at other recent reviews, it appears that upper management have posted reviews to try to salvage the poor ratings. Ayming bears a significant responsibility for the alarmingly high staff turnover it experiences. This persistently high rate is a clear reflection of the company's shortcomings and issues within its operations.

Pros

Initial training for those new to R&D Client portfolio

Cons

Going through the previous negative leaver reviews it is disheartening to read them and know that they come from real people who I've worked with. Colleagues who have been suffering and their calls have not just gone unanswered by management and HR, but have been actively exacerbated by them, and now I add myself to the growing list of ex-Aymers who have been savagely harassed by the leadership of this company. To the savvy jobseekers that read these reviews, please heed them as a warning. Having worked in consulting for a decade I can say that Ayming is different... during my time there, up to that point, I had never seen so many junior staff sacked, nor seen a leadership more confused on what direction to take in order to counter the low team morale that was due to taking on unrealistic workloads to be delivered by an already very burnt out delivery team. When I handed in my notice in to leave I was threatened within a week with a legal action, aiming to make me forgo working and paid Employment for an additional three months after my notice period had terminated, in addition to that the leadership requested that I sign a deed, all in order to scare me into not leaving Ayming. Matters escalated and during my notice period whilst working on client work I was even threatened with the high court, the court of injunctive relief, and in the end I felt like the only court I wasn't threatened with was a tennis court - all turning out to be threats. Therefore I can confirm that the bullying and harassment that other reviewers mention are sadly true. In summary it's a shame to say that the Ayming leadership team has lost its way as it was once a good place to work and develop, I would stay away as there are happier teams out there where your career can actually flourish.

Pros

You have some individuals in management who are there as glorified figures but cannot actually effect real change. How can you have only one person in HR??? For a company of nearly 100 people. Leadership hide behind France and cannot own their decisions. If you are liked you’ll be promoted, even when you cannot perform, and when you have clear gaps within knowledge. If you not liked you’ll be placed on a shelf. I’ve seen some employees promoted for things they cannot do. But because their manager is close to leadership the promotion goes through. When I first joined the business I was so happy to see diversity within leadership but quickly realised it was a distraction It is so easy for consultants to get sucked into to gossiping! Sheep mentality - they cannot think or act for themselves and they have unrealistic expectations on what work actually means and how to navigate employment. Sadly, you can’t really blame them as most of them started work during the pandemic. Stay away from this company full of politics, gossips and backstabbing.

Cons

Stopping favourtism! Starting listening Employer staff who know what they are doing
