Pros
The physical work itself isn't bad. Typical lab work for a clinical lab (QC, Extractions, LP, Sequencing) If you are working for NGS RUO team you will plenty of chances for growth and new opportunities.
Cons
The raises are max 2.5% every year. Which given how inflation has been higher than 2.5% since I have started. Everyone is essentially getting a pay cut. If you are on the clinical team there is zero chance for growth and you will be stuck with the same salary and position for years.
