Cons
Multiple years of bad leadership and poor decisions focussing the business purely on maritime engineering and defence have left it very vulnerable and the pandemic has been used as a cover to strip back employee benefits to maintain this rather than focus on growing profitable and successful business areas. Leadership is centralised at board level meaning the impact of decisions are not well understood with no apparent interest either. Salary cuts, no bonus for 3 years and now a salary freeze for 2 1/2 years is trashing morale but we are still required to work harder than ever to generate cash for the board to waste. Training budgets have been slashed and we are so short staffed we cannot develop new clients to give employees any variety. There is no value to being a mutual - I have no say, no reward for my efforts and no incentive to succeed.
