Pros

If you're a contractor, there is a somewhat good work/life balance--come in at 9:00, do you work, and leave at 5:00.

Cons

Coming here would be a horizontal move, not a step up. Honestly, this is the most mediocre company of my career. If you're a contractor, no opportunity for advancement, lots of bureaucracy and you definitely feel like you're not a part of the company. No clear process on getting converted to full-time status; it's confusing who they convert e.g. you could work your butt off and remain a contractor, while contractors who don't seem to work very hard are converted.

Pros

Great product and the web site is respected by over 40 million users. Great benefits

Cons

Below the picture of smiling baby from the BabyCenter’s web site lays the seriously over-engineered infrastructure sitting in the highly toxic and back-stabbing environment. There is another review here called “Toxic environment” -all what is written there is very true. I have seen very good candidates canceling coming to work for BabyCenter or quitting within their first month. Being thrown under the bus is a complete “norm” here and the upper management does very little to help the situation. With the departure of CIO and other key people, the Engineering has lost track of what is really important and what is not. The vision bounces between 30,000 feet view and 100 feet view: with =nothing= in the middle. The fancy bonuses and pension plans create the "golden cage" environment for BC old timers - that prevents any interest in career development or knowledge transfer
