I worked at Bupa full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the colleagues are friendly, good cafeteria, accommodating of any issues requiring a bit of time off or flexible hours (doctor's appointments, etc.).

    Cons

No training, way too many meetings (sometimes 3-4 a day), very old computers (10-20 years old).

    Advice to Management

Offer training to people in the IT department and invest in better hardware for developers and testers. We were using ancient machines. My screen was almost 20 years old and kept failing.

I have been working at Bupa full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - a real focus on employee health and wellbeing - good work/life balance
    - so mush going on, lots of interesting projects to get involved in
    - lots of opportunities to move into different areas around the business
    - Not hierarchical, senior leaders really accessible and approachable
    - You get to work with some amazing people (especially those on the frontline delivering care!)

    Cons

    - lots of stakeholders to manage across the business due to it being a complex organisation
    - things take a little longer to get done as I'd like
    - technology is too slow to be rolled out

    Advice to Management

    - help connect and join up different parts of the business as it would make things more efficient

I have been working at Bupa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent work-life balance.
    Good pay.
    Great middle-management.
    Good benefits.
    Colleagues are friendly and helpful.
Everything is slowly moving back to the way it was prior to a terrible re-structure.
Genuinely one of the best companies to work for in Brighton.

    Cons

Too few people to do the work, so they cannot provide the level of service that they used to.

    Advice to Management

We need more specialised customer-facing teams. Bupa Global sell a premium product, and having a "jack of all trades" mentality means that some customers may not get the level of service that they have come to expect. International products are complicated and cannot function the same as UK products.
