Pros

They don't (yet) physically chain you to your desk - so you are still free to leave when it becomes unbearable.

Cons

In my experience Carestream was a very unpleasant place to work. The American senior management operate a culture of bullying and oppression which puts a great deal of unnecessary stress on workers. HR in Carestream is in a very, very sorry state, with a bizarre method of appraisal that simply doesn't stand up to any logical scrutiny. I left Carestream a few months ago and now work in a similarly high-pressure role, with one BIG difference - the company I now work for is managed by people who actually understand the market and actually understand how business works. The result is that, whilst I still have work pressures, the stress levels are way, way lower than at Carestream. If you're thinking of leaving Carestream for any of the reasons mentioned above, my advice - based on my own actual experience - is DO IT!

Pros

Company still has a good competitive product range with good staff, mainly at lower level which seems to be keeping the company afloat.

Cons

This is a company that does not reward the individual no matter how much effort they put in. Come your P+D you will find your grading totally fixed. If you have a company car, you will end up paying towards the leasing costs, even though the standard car quality and engine size goes down year by year, which is also an additional cost for the employee even if you need a like for like replacement come the renewal. Bullying now is on the increase, if you don’t agree with new changes of company policies, it becomes mandatory anyway and threats of your contract of employment being changed if you don’t sign. No adequate structure in place to instruct middle management of a true vision, lots of middle managers coming up with ideas that are poorly thought out and counterproductive, which only has a negative effect on employees morale; it’s like the blind leading the blind.

Pros

Some great products and some more on the pipeline. Great work collegues Who want to do a good job for their customers.

Cons

Company still uses out dated and totally unfair employee review/grading system that other companies have abandoned after losing their best talent. Employees cant actually influence some of their targets.
