Pros

Amazingly supportive EMEA team who are friendly to no end. Genuine feeling of having found some long term friends. IP still relevant but the company is only effective due to it's incredibly hard working delivery/ consultant team who work tirelessly to ensure the success of their customers and genuinely care.

Cons

Old school leadership who refuse to accept that they are no longer part of a 4Bil$ organisation, they are out golfing with their old clients at Pebble Beach on the company dime while cutting pay and making 20% of the workforce redundant. EMEA offices are secluded and ignored with senior leadership only making token appearances in person following mass firings. Leadership quash feedback or questioning to try and strive for a one company vision but instead end up with confused staff and muddled/ conflicting messaging. Though the business used to be good for promotions and skill development (especially for junior staff), they are now dangled as carrots and when they rarely do happen they come with little to no merit or responsibility increases. High attrition from newer talented employees when it becomes clear that they have no voice. High verbal praise of the delivery team through made up awards like "monthly Challenger Champion", to try and avoid having any conversation about real merit increases and promotions that reflect the job and responsibilities that they already have. The amount of red tape for a company of 140 employees is genuinely impressive.

Pros

I have been a part of Challenger (previously CEB) for 2 1/2 years - starting out in lead gen, promoted into a quota bearing role around a year ago. I have learned more than I care to admit in that time; the company provides solutions for sales excellence and commercial strategy - there are few better places to learn how to sell. The coaching opportunities are plentiful, and the workforce is packed with intelligent and experience. There are a lot of benefits to working in sales at Challenger. The company has unlimited holiday & flexible working, you have freedom within a territory and your judgement is respected. Likewise there is an excellent support network and I have never felt as though I can’t ask anybody in the organisation for help when needed, up to the CEO. You can earn a lot of money, but income and career progression are dictated by how hard you work and how willing you are to learn, develop and use the resources available to you; exactly how a sales environment should be. People are friendly and there is a good culture.

Cons

Challenger is less than 18 months old - there has been a lot of change in that time and things can sometimes seem disorganised. Leadership have been finding out what works and process and infrastructure are getting better as months go by.
